Q: Can I get turned down?
A.
Yes. Each Acceptance Certificate is carefully reviewed, and credit decisions are made based on the applicant’s creditworthiness. If, after you return your Acceptance Certificate, we find that you do not meet our pre-selected credit criteria, we may be unable to provide you with an account.

Q: My offer indicates my credit line. How will you decide my credit line and how will I be notified?
A.
Each Acceptance Certificate is carefully reviewed, and credit decisions are made based on the respondent’s creditworthiness. If approved, your credit line will be included with your credit card, which you can confirm with the information printed on your billing statement.

Q: What will my interest rate (APR) be?
A.
Your APR is described in the offer materials sent to you, and will also be included with your Cardholder Agreement and on your billing statement. If you respond online, it will also be displayed when you fill out the online Acceptance Certificate.

Q: Can I have a co-applicant?
A.
The offer is made only to the addressed individual. However, you can allow someone to be an authorized user on the account.

Q: How do I get credit line increases?
A.
Continue to make on-time payments and your account will be reviewed and may receive a credit line increase. If you have been selected to receive a credit line increase, a notice will be provided to you on your billing statement with the new credit limit assignment.

Q: Do I have to make a deposit to get the card?
A.
No. This is an offer for unsecured credit. No deposit is required.

Q: What is the P.A.Y.S. Plan?
A.
P.A.Y.S. is an optional plan that helps your credit by making a monthly benefit payment to your Merrick Bank credit card account in the event of Identity Theft, Involuntary Unemployment, Disability, Hospitalization, Family Leave of Absence, Marriage, Birth or Adoption of a Child, Purchase of a New Primary Residence, Divorce or Legal Separation or Death. Q: I responded online, but I am not sure if I was approved. How do I find out?
A.
All applicants, whether they respond online or in the mail, will receive a notification letter in the mail 2-3 weeks from when they applied. If you have not heard from the Bank within that time frame, you may call us at (800) 328-9155, extension 6702.
